Terry Mills loves a good steak. And tripe. Anything greasy. And full-bore soda pop.
It’s the way he grew up back on the Lakota reservation at Pine Ridge, S.D. There’s not much fresh produce, and people are likely to eat more junk food, canned food, fast food and just plain bad food. Add that to the lack of exercise and you have a recipe for one of the highest rates of diabetes among American ethnic groups.
